Job Position: Section Operator II
The Metallurgy Department seeks to employ an experienced and suitable individual for the position of Section Operator II. The incumbent will be responsible for planning and executing tasks to achieve objectives by organizing, coordinating, and adhering to set controls per metallurgical standards and procedures to keep the water treatment plant running at maximum recovery.
About The Role
- Ensure the clarifiers (CL500 & CL200) and the Water Treatment Plant are free from tripping hazards by cleaning material spills
- Assist maintenance crew in carrying out maintenance works on the clarifiers, monitoring tools, and the water treatment plant
- Liaise with the section operators to ensure timely reporting and execution of work
- Ensure the area of operation is controlled in accordance with operational procedures
- Report to the Shift Supervisor any unsafe situation or hazards that are likely to obstruct production to the next shift worker
- Report to the Shift Supervisor on ways to improve safety, efficiency, performance and production
- Ensure good housekeeping
Key Requirements
- A minimum of three (3) years working experience in similar position
- A minimum of Senior High School Certificate or its Equivalent
- Knowledge in laboratory measuring parameters and mine effluent discharge procedures
- Knowledge in screen filtration and Reverse Osmosis (R.O) processes
- Knowledge in water clarification, by-product management and treatment protocols
- Good understanding in repairs and maintenance of Ultra-filtration membranes
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills as well as ability to interact with people of diverse culture
- Must be organized with an ability to plan and prioritize own workload
- Anticipates, plans and reacts quickly & flexibly to changing circumstances
- Be self-reliant, self-driven and results-oriented
